Hiking Women: The Long Trail, Vermont with Trinity the husky
Hiking Women, our guest blogger this month is Rosie Enos, a long distance backpacker, dog sled musher, co-owner and guide for Roam the Woods, a U.S. company dedicated to empowering women to get outside and enjoy the outdoors.
With her partner and trusty canine friend, Trinity, both veteran hikers, she recently embarked on a hike along The Long Trail, Vermont. This 273 mile track follows the ridge of the Green Mountains, running the length of Vermont from from the Massachusetts-Vermont state line to the border of Canada.
The best planners always plan for the unexpected, and Rosie was ready for any eventuality. After four days into the trip and with over 50 miles under their belts they were forced to cut short the trip because of an injury to Trinity’s foot.
Read more about Rosie’s hike along The Long Trail on our blog page, the lessons she learned and her advice on planning for, and caring for, man’s best friend during a hiking tour.
Happy hiking women,
Anne
